| Ayy-eee! Take a journey to the swamp with Gris Gris. This 4-piece Cajun & Zydeco band is led by Lafayette native James LeBlanc on vocals and accordion, accompanied by fiddle, bass & drums. James has played with many of Louisiana's top musicians in his 25 years of performing, and his well-established Cajun/zydeco band has been setting dance floors afire throughout Florida since 1994. James speaks and sings in both English and authentic Cajun French, his first language growing up in the heart of Acadiana. In Cajun folklore "gris gris" (pronounced "gree gree") means a spell. It comes from the rich New Orleans Voodoo folklore traditions. It was said that you could have the "gris gris" put on you, and Gris Gris will put a magical musical spell on you for sure, cher! “Laissez les bon temps rouler!” |
