Synonymous with jazz on Florida's First Coast, Jacksonville University Artist in Residence and professor of guitar
Gary Starling has appeared with the Jacksonville Symphony Pops Orchestra, performed multiple times at the
Jacksonville Jazz Festival, made a live appearance on Public Radio's "Whad'ya Know" and played with performers like
Bob Hope, Diahann Carroll, Rita Moreno and Skitch Henderson. With a style ranging from jazz and pop standards,
swing, bossa nova and samba to contemporary funky jazz, his group can be tailored to your event utilizing the area's
best musicians with guitar, upright bass and drums forming the core jazz trio. He can add additional players including
saxophone, trumpet, keyboard and/or a vocalist for a quartet or larger. Gary also performs solo or as a duo for
smaller settings.
