Gary acknowledges his friend and mentor, late Lynyrd
Skynyrd keyboardist Billy Powell, as a major influence,
and Gary played for a time in the Rossington Band with
Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington, as well as performing
with regional favorite Southern Cross.  Other influences
include Elton John and Billy Joel, something that is very
apparent when you see this consummate "piano man"
perform.
